Friday is the 4th and, as every Dearling knows, that's Gackt's birthday! Last year I made a batch of muffins... and burnt them horribly (which was incredibly shocking and disappointing, as I pride myself on being an excellent baker).

This year... I don't have any plans. Money is scarce these days, as is food, and I can not risk this year being a repeat of last year - that would be a waste of food we don't have. Sorry, not going to happen. I think the most that's going to happen for my family is going to Joe's house for a fireworks show. Maybe I'll just watch my RED and BLUE Filmography DVDs before we go. *sigh*

So, what about the rest of you? How are you going to celebrate (if you will at all)?

WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court declared Wednesday that executions are too severe a punishment for raping children, despite the "years of long anguish" for victims, in a ruling that restricts the death penalty to murder and crimes against the state.

The court's 5-4 decision struck down a Louisiana law that allows capital punishment for people convicted of raping children under 12. It spares the only people in the U.S. under sentence of death for that crime — two Louisiana men convicted of raping girls 5 and 8.

The ruling also invalidates laws on the books in five other states that allowed executions for child rape that does not result in the death of the victim.

However devastating the crime to children, Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in his majority opinion, "the death penalty is not a proportional punishment for the rape of a child." His four liberal colleagues joined him, while the four more conservative justices dissented.

I think the decision should be left to the State. Personally, though... as an aunt and (someday) a future mother... I whole-heartedly believe that all child rapists should be put to death.

Ummm... what else? I noticed I've been getting un-Friended lately. As much as that hurts me, a part of me also doesn't care that much. I read your LJs everyday, though I barely ever leave Comments anymore, I admit. Sometimes, I can't think of anything to say, or I just can't relate to whatever it is you're posting about. I'm sorry. m(___)m This doesn't mean I don't care, though. I care about all of you. I think of you guys as my real Friends, even if we don't talk to each other that much.

Anyways, if you really feel the need to un-Friend me... that's perfectly fine with me.

I LOVE IT! All of the songs are fantastic! "Moon Crying" is a gorgeous ballad and it gets stuck in my head quite easily. "That Ain't Cool (Feat. Fergie)" is just awesome. IT ROCKS. "Once Again" is a nice, mellow summerish song, and "Lady Go!" is really fun and catchy! ♥

My only complaint is that "That Ain't Cool" has more of Fergie than Kumi, and seems like "Fergie feat. Koda Kumi" than the other way around. O_o Regardless, the song is HOT. ^_^ It's definitely my favorite song on the single.

DiNozzo and McGee have both been reassigned to new units, and Ziva's position as the team's Mossad Liaison Officer has been terminated (so now she's being sent back to Israel). FUCKTHATSHIT. HELL NOOOO. If the team is really going to be torn apart like this, then I refuse to watch NCIS anymore. Director Shepard died, btw, but I kinda knew that she would.
